Bridesmaid Bouquet

Today, Tess and I will be creating a simple "generic" bridesmaid bouquet that can be used for any bridal party.

I have had questions regarding the bridesmaids from girls who want a brooch bouquet, but can't afford to have them for all the bridesmaids.  We are in the process of creating an affordable bridesmaid bouquet for any bride's taste.  Watch this space....

Vintage Lace Bouquet

We thought we would try our hand at a vintage lace bouquet.  I have been collecting vintage lace for a while and thought it was time to start using it.  Here are a few of the flowers we put into the bouquet below.

I have yet to take "professional" photos and load it onto the website!  You like??

Brooch Bouquets

When I first laid eyes on a brooch bouquet, I fell instantly in love.  I loved the sparkle of the jewellry, the shades of the colours and the remarkable variety of shapes.  It was just so...gorgeous!  Needless to say, I wanted to make one - straight away!  So after much op shopping, marketing, and ebaying, I created my first brooch bouquet.  My two close sisters also fell in love when they saw it, and together, we created the business "Bridal X Factor", devoted solely to anything bling.  Take a look at our small, but growing range of bouquets on www.bridalxfactor.com.au
Here is one to wet your appetite!

Determining your body shape/choosing the best wedding dress.

In this new blog I am centering particularly on determining your body shape when choosing your wedding dress.

Jane Liddelow of Style Makeover HQ states that if you like your body shape you are either male or a very unusual female! However, whether you like your body or not, if you understand what your current shape and proportions are and know a few style guidelines for your shape you are well on your way to looking your best in your wedding dress etc.

Combine wearing flattering clothes with your best colours and you'll feel fabulous and impress everyone you meet.

There are a number of factors that are involved in a full style analysis.  These include assessing...
1.  Your vertical body type
2.  Your horizontal body type
3.  Your face shape
4.  Your weight
5.  Your height
6.  Your bone structure
7.  Your shoulder size and angle
8.  Your neck length and circumference
9.  Your age
10. Any figure flaws such as a large bottom, a large stomach, or saddle bags
However, you can get started by self-assessing your vertical body type and your horizontal body type.
What Is The Perfect Shape?
Luckily beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, the current stereotype of a "perfect" female body shape is moderately tall with a body balanced vertically, an hourglass figure and an oval shaped face.
For males the ideal is tall with a balanced vertical body and a trapezoid torso (that is, broad shoulders and chest tapering to medium waist and hips) and an oval face.
So, You Don’t Have The Perfect Shape?
Not many of us do (only something like 2% of the population).  However, you can create the illusion of a perfect body by choosing clothes (including wedding dresses) to create the appearance of perfect proportions.  It's all about balancing your perceived shape to the "perfect" shape (or moving your appearance in that direction, anyway).
For example, as a female, if you have long legs and a short, rectangle torso you can create the illusion of a longer, leaner, inverted triangle torso (the next best female shape).  Do this by choosing tops that emphasize your shoulders and that flow through the waist, with a hemline between the lower hip to the tip of your fingers and with no horizontal seams across your torso.
As a male, if you have short legs and a long rectangle torso you can create the illusion of longer legs and a shorter trapezoid body by choosing shirts that make your shoulders look wider and tuck in your shirt to make your torso look shorter (as long as your stomach isn't too big).  Choose trousers that are darker than your shirt and shoes in the same colour as your trousers, or darker, to make your legs look longer.
Changing Shape
Of course understanding your current shape doesn't rule out changing your shape through diet and exercise or, more drastically, through plastic surgery.  The idea is to make the most of whatever shape you are now so bear this in mind when choosing the right style of wedding dress for your body shape.
If you do change shape by more than 5.5cm (2 inches) then you should re-assess your body shape and ensure your clothing choices (or favourite wedding dress) still flatter your current shape.

Take a look at our beautiful bridal brooch bouquets on our website www.bridalxfactor.com.au  Brooch bouquets are the biggest thing in Australia right now and you are certain to find something that will suit your style of wedding dress.  If you like different colours or styles, we are more than willing to accomodate you.
